Bread Preparation Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Quickly run the entire loaf under cold running water, getting the crust damp but not soaking it, or flick water droplets on it. (If you have one, a spray bottle works great!)
  3. For crusty bread, place the loaf directly on the oven rack for 10-15 minutes. For a softer result, use a pan or wrap in foil before placing in the oven.
  4. Let it cool for a minute or two before cutting; the inside will be steamy and soft, and the crust crisp.
